Student, Teacher, and Parent Responsibilities Students will be responsible for: 1. Keeping a well organized, neat and complete binder (this will be checked at least once a quarter). 2. Writing down all homework assignments in his or her plan book, managing long term assignments, and asking parents to sign plan book. 3. Completing and turning in all class assignments and homework. 4. Preparing for quizzes and tests. 5. Bringing all necessary books and supplies to class. 6. Being mentally prepared for class by participating in class discussions, activities, and being a cooperative member of the class. 7. Approaching the teacher with questions and problems, and participating in the process of finding solutions to these challenges. 8. Following the Classroom Code. As the teacher, I will be responsible for: 1. Creating a classroom environment that is welcoming and conducive to learning. 2. Presenting the content in an understandable and well organized format. 3. Being a mentor in modeling ways for students to become independent learners. 4. Checking and returning assignments, homework, tests, quizzes and projects in a timely manner. 5. Checking plan books for completeness and parent signatures. 6. Helping students to problem solve when approached with challenges. 7. Working collaboratively with other teachers, resource personnel, and parents. 8. Being available to students and parents who have questions and concerns. Parents will be responsible for: 1. Checking homework for completeness when necessary and signing plan books. 2. Creating a space and environment at home where their child can effectively complete homework and prepare for class. 3. Working collaboratively with teachers, resource personnel, and the principal to better enhance the education and personal development of their child. 4. Contacting me through email, written note, or message in the child’s plan book with questions or concerns. My email is [email protected].
